ASPaC Merit Award - 2019

Packaging Design for The Asia Student Package Design Competition (ASPac) - 2019
The ASPaC Awards is an initiative by the Japan Foundation and the Japan Package Design Association (JPDA)

Inspired by how Hijabs can be colourful and innovative to creative which I thought the packaging should be too. Hijab is an important sacred garment and has garnered more popularity with the rise of modest fashion. Wearing the Hijab can seem restrictive to those of us who are not of the Muslim faith. However, the vast majority of women who wear the Hijab wear it by choice. The proposed design solution is to make the identity of Hijab accessible and approachable. Like most things, women express themselves with their hair as much as Muslim women express with their Hijab - it is part of their identity. The packaging is also multifunctional for the end-users to hang and stack their purchased Hijab, extending the packaging’s life.
